Do we need a new concept of God?

This page explains different peoples views and opinions on whether we need a new concept of God.

Many people believe that our concept of God is wrong and therefore needs to be changed. A belief about God is that he is omniscient but if he does know the future and the past then he would not feel surprise or disappointment. If God does not have any emotions because he does know the future/past, then he cannot be all caring.

People claim that God feels regret but he wouldn't feel these emotions if he knew and controlled the future/past. God feeling these emotions shows that he does not know the future/past and therefore is not all powerful. This in turn is another point that could be raised and discussed: if God is NOT all powerful, NOT all caring and NOT omniscient, then what other ideas/beliefs about God are wrong?

Changing the concept of God could have disastorous consequences. Many different questions would be brought up and asked. These would all need to be answered. People would need to agree on one opinion for it to become normal and for the belief to be real and believed. Lots of people would disagree and argue about what beliefs need to be changed and what beliefs could stay. Does the whole concept of God need to be looked at and scruntinized? Can you just trust God and believe the possible lies? Can people regain their trust after these possible lies become clear and ridiculed? After changing these beliefs, the whole concept of God could just be one huge mess, with no-one knowing what to believe.

Could it be, therefore, that it is better for everyone as a whole, that the concept of God could be left alone with people who feel strongly believing something different to another person? In life at the moment, a lot of people already have different opinions and beliefs about God and the truth about him. Why would it be so different it nothing changed now.

Of course, people would be confused about what to believe in church and what would vicars (etc.) advise? Would there need to be a set belief that would be preached or could it be down to what that personal vicar (etc.) believed.

If a new concept of God was created and accepted, then there would be no problems. Time going by with no results, is letting people argue and get confused. Something would need to be produced quickly for this idea about 'needing a new concept of God' to be accepted and not to be turned into a huge political debate.

Many people think we would be better off without any belief in God.  However, there are many problems with the belief that there is no God when it comes to suffering.

Reverend Rebecca belives that God only knows and predetermines specific things about the future unlike others who believe that God is omniscienct, meaning he knows the past, present and future.

As well as this she has evidence to back up her idea as God in the bible has regret and suprise and if he knew everything then he would not experience suprise and disapointment.

Similar to this many people belive that God had pathways set up for us who make the choices and God doesn't know what we will choose but has trust in us to make the right choices.

Does this answer the problem of suffering?
