Rendition - This is an excellent film that deals with the real-life issue of extraordinary rendition. It's based on the true story of a German citizen who was mistaken for a terrorist with the same name. He was taken by the CIA to Afghanistan, where he was held without trial and tortured. In the film, there are two characters who have to search their conscience as they realise they may be the only ones who can help an innocent man to get home to his wife. |
There are many videos on YouTube:
- We are all born free and equal - a one minute American Human Rights advert - watch all 30 at Youth For Human Rights
- Faith and Human Rights - A video of the Archbishop talking about faith and rights
- Amnesty International - A great summary of where they came from and who they are, from 2006 (nice to see the late John Peel)
- Waterboard - a disturbing, cert 15 advert by Amnesty
- Peter Gabriel - A long clip, Peter talking about rights - well worth your time.
Amnesty have made some powerful animations about China and the Olympics.
