Books about the Environment

There are many ethics texts that deal with theories and issues. The best of these are Vardy's Puzzle of Ethics and Bowie's Ethical Studies (make sure you get the much larger second edition). On the environment, the following are available:

Book Rating/5 Cover
Environmental Ethics by Joe Walker - Part of the Access to Philosophy series. Inexpensive and concise, this is a good introduction to environmental ethics. Five chapters (122 pages) covering environmental ethics, specific issues, animal rights, the human dimension and conclusions. There is some application of ethical theories, although not all the ones you'd hope for, and a small amount of religious response. A good starting point, and very accessible.
The Environment and Christian Ethics - A heavy going text more suited to university students. There is some excellent content here, but I would recommend starting with Northcott's much shorter chapter in the Cambridge Companion to Christian Ethics (see below)

The Cambridge Companion to Christian Ethics - There are chapters on Christian Ethics (including Natural Law and Virtue Ethics) and War, Business and Economic Ethics, Medicine and Social Justice by many different authors. Every RS department should own a copy of this book - something more substantial for A level students.

Science and religion in schools - This CD ROM and book has an excellent chapter on Terraforming, which you can see for free on the website. Have a look: sample resources.
