Euthanasia has featured in all the soaps, repeatedly in Holby and Casualty, and now in mainstram, oscar-winning films.
Film Rating/5 Million Dollar Baby - An entertaining story about a female boxer with tremendous determination and a coach who reluctantly trains her to a title fight becomes, half way through the film, a moving story about a woman who asks a friend to break the law and go against his religion to help her die. This is the euthanasia debate pure and simple. What would you do?
The Sea Inside - This film won an oscar for best foreign film. It deals directly with euthanasia, "love shared in its purest form". The film takes you on an emotional journey, but ultimately leaves the question open: is it right to commit euthanasia?
