Kakadu National Park
This is a national park in Northern Australia's territory which contains many different species of animals which are found nowhere else in the world such as Hooded Parrots and the Pig-nosed Turtle which are endangered. However Kakadu is also rich in gold, platinum, palladium and uranium. Mining already goes on here but it is highly restricted. Some believe there should be more mining.
Guadalquivir River
In 1998 5 million cubic metres of toxic water was dumped in this river near Seville. It caused all life in the river to die, and it will take many years for the fish population to get back to where it was. This didn't just affect all of the inhabitants of the river, it also affected every animal that drinks from the river or feeds on the fish.
