You may be asked a question directly about the Right to Life, and should be prepared to answer a question like this one that came up in June 2005:

(a) Explain how belief in the sanctity of life may influence an ethical approach to abortion. [33]

(b) 'A foetus is not a person.' Discuss. [17]

Here is another question, from June 2006, that deals with the sanctitiy of life directly:

(a) E xplain what is meant by the sanctity of life. [33]

(b) ‘The concept of the sanctity of life is not helpful in understanding the issues surrounding euthanasia.’ Discuss. [17]

There are also questions about Abortion, Euthanasia and Embryo Research in which you might talk in detail about the Right to Life. You may also mention the Right to Life in questions of the Right to a Child and Genetics.

We now have an interactive diagram showing how to answer an ethics exam question, The 'structure' of the paragraph will be different for 'ethical theory' questions, but the basic principles are the same. Try filling it in yourself and print out the completed diagram.
